NEW DELHI: Govt on Wednesday urged the global mining community to participate in the first-ever India Mining Week 2026, to be held in the capital in Nov, as it seeks to showcase policy reforms in the sector, attract global investment and secure critical mineral supply chains for clean energy and advanced manufacturing.Minister of state for coal and mines Satish Chandra Dubey and Rupinder Brar, additional secretary in the ministry of coal, held an international outreach interaction with representatives of diplomatic missions from 19 countries to discuss greater international participation and collaboration in India’s mining and minerals sector.The three-day event, being organised by the ministries of coal and mines in association with the mining industry, will be held at Yashobhoomi from Nov 15-17.Dubey urged partner countries to facilitate the participation of leading mining companies, major investors and prominent delegates, saying such engagement would strengthen collaboration and create opportunities in the mining and minerals sector.Representatives from Malawi, Sri Lanka, Mozambique, Algeria, the US, Chile, Bhutan, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Russia, Iraq, Morocco, Venezuela, Spain, Poland, Mongolia, Zambia, France, Ghana and the US Chamber of Commerce participated in the interaction.The interaction also provided govt an opportunity to share the scope and programme of the event and discuss areas of mutual interest, including critical minerals, mineral exploration, mining technology, heavy mining equipment, innovation, investment, trade and resource development.

Dubey said India was expanding its focus on critical minerals, resource security, infrastructure development and domestic manufacturing, making international cooperation increasingly important across the mining value chain.The three-day summit is likely to bring together more than 25,000 industry professionals and decision-makers, over 500 exhibitors and technology providers, 200 speakers and industry experts, over 1,000 govt and PSU delegates and more than 300 mining and mineral companies from over 50 countries.“The event will feature a high-level conference, international exhibition, technical sessions, leadership dialogues, B2B meetings, technology demonstrations and product launches, with discussions spanning coal, metals, critical minerals, exploration, mining technology, automation, mine safety, sustainability, mineral processing and resource efficiency,” govt said in a statement.
